Vanguard Democrats

Since 1972, The Vanguard Independent Democratic Association (VIDA) has been one of New York's most active Democratic clubs dedicated to empowering the Central Brooklyn community. We strive to elevate the voices of our community by electing public servants of the utmost integrity, experience, compassion and devotion to service. VIDA is currently led by Henry Butler, a lifelong Bedford-Stuyvesant resident and currently the district manager of Brooklyn Community Board 3, he is preceded by City Councilman Robert Cornegy, who remains an active member and sits on VIDA’s executive committee along with former Councilman and Assemblyman Al Vann and current Bed-Stuy Assemblywoman Annette Robinson and Brownsville native Assemblywoman Latrice Walker.
